Commentary on ACC Quarterfinals

Postgame– This has been Addison Hunsicker giving you live commentary on the ACC Quarterfinals! Thank you for joining me!

Postgame– The ACC did not disappoint us tonight! NC State beats Syracuse in a thriller 66-63, then Duke defeated Clemson in another thriller 63-62!

Postgame– Landry Nnoko, KJ McDaniels, Rod Hall, and Jordan Roper all with double digit points for Clemson.

Postgame– Amile Jefferson had 13 rebounds for Duke

Postgame– Jabari Parker with 18 points, Rasheed Sulaimon with 16 points, and Rodney Hood with 15 points for Duke

Postgame– Duke will face NC State tomorrow in the ACC Semifinals!

Final– DUKE WINS 63-62!!

2nd Half, 3 Seconds Left– Rodney Hood is fouled and makes both free throws to give Duke a one point lead! Timeout Duke, their final timeout.

2nd Half, 7 Seconds Left– ROD HALL MAKES THE LAYUP FOR CLEMSON!

2nd Half, 47 Seconds Left– Clemson in the bonus after Amile Jefferson is called for a push. KJ McDaniels makes first attempt, misses second. Duke up by one.

2nd Half, 1 Minute Left– Rasheed Sulaimon at the free throw line for Duke. Missed first attempt, made second.

2nd Half, 1 Minute Left– Duke up 60-59.

2nd Half, 1 Minute Left– Clemson cuts the deficit to one point! Duke fans, get worried, the Tigers are storming back.

2nd Half, 2 Minutes Left– Landry Nnoko with another post move inside for Clemson after Jabari Parker scored for Duke. Blue Devils up three.

2nd Half, 2 Minutes Left– Rasheed Sulaimon knocks the jumper down after Duke’s timeout. Rod Hall answers for Clemson.

2nd Half, 2 Minutes Left– Coach K giving his team an earful; had to call another timeout after players were yelling at each other on the floor.

2nd Half, 3 Minutes Left– Official review on the Hall shot; three is confirmed.

2nd Half, 3 Minutes Left– Rod Hall burries a three for Clemson to cut the deficit to three for after Jabari Parker turned it over! 56-53 Duke.

2nd Half, 4 Minutes Left– Duke calls timeout after Demarcus Harrison knocks down a three for Clemson, cutting the deficit to six.

2nd Half, 5 Minutes Left– KJ McDaniels heating up for Clemson; has nine points in the second half, 11 for the game.

2nd Half, 6 Minutes Left– Hood makes both.

2nd Half, 6 Minutes Left– Rodney Hood fouled after the timeout; Duke in the bonus.

2nd Half, 7 Minutes Left– Jabari Parker finishes strong in the paint to give Duke some insurance.

2nd Half, 7 Minutes Left– Clemson cuts the deficit to five.

2nd Half, 9 Minutes Left– Landry Nnoko with the put-back dunk after a Adonis Filer missed jumper. Nnoko then gets the post hook after a Filer steal.

2nd Half, 10 Minutes Left– KJ McDaniels knocks down a trey for Clemson after a Rodney Hood free throw for Duke. Deficit back to single digits for the Tigers.

2nd Half, 10 Minutes Left– Clemson cuts the deficit back to 10 with a Blossomgame free throw and a Austin Ajukwa floater.

2nd Half, 11 Minutes Left– Quinn Cook extends Duke’s lead to 13 with a three after Rod Hall missed the second of two free throws for Clemson.

2nd Half, 12 Minutes Left– Amile Jefferson into the double figures mark for rebounding.

2nd Half, 12 Minutes Left– After Damarcus Harrison gets a pair of free throws for Clemson, Rodney Hood answers with two free throws of his own to extend Duke’s lead back to 11.

2nd Half, 13 Minutes Left– Landry Nnoko calling for the ball inside the post for the Tigers.

2nd Half, 14 Minutes Left– Rodney Hood back in the game and gets the bucket. KJ McDaniels answers for Clemson.

2nd Half, 16 Minutes Left– Tyler Thornton drains a three from the corner for Duke after Blossomgame made a jumper for Clemson. Duke up 11.

2nd Half, 17 Minutes Left- Jabari Parker connects on both free throws after the timeout.

2nd Half, 17 Minutes Left– Clemson calls timeout after Rod Hall is called for an offensive foul. Duke up by eight.

2nd Half, 17 Minutes Left– Sulaimon gets the steal then knocks down a pair of free throws after getting fouled.

2nd Half, 18 Minutes Left– Sulaimon extends Duke’s lead to six, banking a layup off the inbound pass.

2nd Half, 19 Minutes Left– Clemson star KJ McDaniels is being bothered by a shoulder injury. Still knocks down a jumper to start off the scoring for Clemson in the second half.

Halftime– Second Half coming up shortly!

Halftime– Jordan Roper adding 11 to Clemson’s total off the bench, an Landry Nnoko has four points, three rebounds, and a block for the Tigers.

Halftime– Amile Jefferson has four points and eight rebounds for Duke; Jabari Parker with 10 points and two rebounds.

Halftime– Duke with the 20-14 edge on the glass; also have less turnovers as Clemson has six, Duke with four.

Halftime– Clemson holds for the last shot but Jordan Roper cannot connect. Duke up 29-25 heading into the half.

1st Half, 30 Seconds Left– Duke gets the steal and Jabari Parker slams it on the fast break to extend Duke’s lead to four.

1st Half, 40 Seconds Left– Cook with another lob pass! This time to Rodney Hood. Duke leads 27- 25.

1st Half, 2 Minutes Left– Quinn Cook with the lob pass to Jabari Parker who throws it down!

1st Half, 2 Minutes Left– Clemson leads Duke 23-21 heading into the final official media timeout of the first half.

1st Half, 3 Minutes Left– Rod Hall with the strong finish to the rack.

1st Half, 4 Minutes Left– Jabari Parker finally gets his first bucket from the field to tie the game up at 21.

1st Half, 5 Minutes Left– Clemson with a 19-17 lead after Roper makes both free throws.

1st Half, 5 Minutes Left– Tyler Thornton fouls Roper, Roper going back to the free throw line.

1st Half, 6 Minutes Left– Jabari Parker misses again but Amile Jefferson is there for the put-back. Jordan Roper makes all three free throws after being fouled by Rasheed Sulaimon.

1st Half, 7 Minutes Left– Roper makes the free throw.

1st Half, 7 Minutes Left– Jordan Roper is fouled by Andre Dawkins and makes the three! Will be shooting the free throw for the four-point play after the official media timeout. Duke up 15-13.

1st Half, 7 Minutes Left– Jordan Roper gets two for Clemson then Rodney Hood ends Duke’s drought with a layup.

1st Half, 8 Minutes Left– Clemson slowing down the high-powered Duke offense. Blue Devils have been held scoreless the past five minutes.

1st Half, 9 Minutes Left– Jabari Parker fouls Sidy Djitte who misses both free throws. The ACC Freshman Player of the Year silent for the Duke Blue Devils up to this point.

1st Half, 10 Minutes Left– Shot clock violation for the Tigers

1st Half, 11 Minutes Left– This has been much slower than Cuse/NC State, being played primarily in the half-court thus far.

1st Half, 11 Minutes Left-  Landry Nnoko with the slam after a KJ McDaniels steal for Clemson. Duke up 13-8.

1st Half, 13 Minutes Left– Amile Jefferson making his presence known by snagging an offensive rebound and dishing it out to Sulaimon for three after a three-point play from Jaron Blossomgame.

1st Half, 14 Minutes Left– Rasheed Sulaimon goes coast-to-coast, extending the Blue Devils lead to seven.

1st Half, 15 Minutes Left– Rodney Hood with a nice hustle play. Gets blocked, grabs offensive rebound, and turns around hitting the jumper from the corner.

1st Half, 15 Minutes Left– Rod Hall hits a free throw right after the break.

1st Half, 15 Minutes Left– Duke with a 6-2 lead heading into the first official media timeout.

1st Half, 16 Minutes Left– Clemson gets on the board with a put-back layup from Landry Nnoko! Credit to Duke’s guards for causing havoc on the perimeter, as the Tigers are struggling to move the ball early.

1st Half, 19 Minutes Left– Duke strikes first on an Amile Jefferson layup inside. The Blue Devils with excellent defensive intensity to start off the game.

1st Half, 20 Minutes Left– We are underway in game two of tonight’s ACC action! Duke wins the tip.

Pregame– Rebounding will be the difference in the game two. If Clemson is physical and aggressive, Duke could be in trouble.

Pregame– The winner of Duke/Clemson will face NC State tomorrow at 3 P.M. EST.

Pregame– With the Kansas Jawhawks just falling to Iowa State, that final one seed remains wide open. Jabari Parker & Company over at Duke could snag that one seed by winning the ACC Tournament, but first they have to get by the Clemson Tigers, led by KJ McDaniels and Rod Hall.

Pregame– Another revenge game as Clemson shocked the Blue Devils on January 11th, blowing Duke out of the building in the second half winning 72-59 at home.

Pregame– NC State and Syracuse was an exciting one, but we are not done tonight! Duke vs. Clemson coming up shortly.

Postgame- The Orange made a run towards the end of the game but to no avail. Their struggles on the offensive end came back to haunt them as they were unable to advance in the ACC Tournament.

Postgame– Tyler Ennis is the top performer for the Orange, finishing with 21 points, seven assists, five rebounds, and four steals.

Postgame– TJ Warren is the top performer on the night, finishing with 28 points, eight rebounds, and a pair of assists and blocks.

Final- THE WOLFPACK PULL IT OFF!! NC STATE DEFEATS SYRACUSE 66-63, ADVANCING TO THE ACC SEMIFINALS!!

2nd Half, 2 Seconds Left– Missed shots, after missed shots, after missed shots for the Orange. Ball goes out of bounds after a Cooney miss, Wolfpack ball.

2nd Half, 24 Seconds Left– TJ Warren nails both free throws, Wolfpack up three

2nd Half, 26 Seconds Left– Anthony Barber misses the layup and Michael Gbinije cuts the Orange deficit to one. Shot clock turned off.

2nd Half, 42 Seconds Left– Tyler Ennis turns it over, NC State calls timeout.

2nd Half, 1 Minute Left– Jerami Grant makes a jumper for Cuse and TJ Warren follows up with a baseline jumper of his own. NC State holds a 64-61 lead.

2nd Half, 2 Minutes Left– CJ Fair called for the offensive foul and Ralston Turner knocks down another three for the Wolfpack!

2nd Half, 3 Minutes Left– Syracuse’s 12-2 run ends on a pair of free throws from Anthony Barber. All tied up at 59!

2nd Half, 3 Minutes Left– Tyler Ennis connects on both free throws to give Syracuse their first lead since the first half.

2nd Half, 4 Minutes Left– TJ Warren rejected by Grant! Ralston Turner fouls for NC State and free throws will be coming up for Syracuse after the timeout.

2nd Half, 5 Minutes Left– We got ourselves a ball game! Jerami Grant throws the lob to Rakeem Christmas who slams it down for the Orange! One point game; 55-54 NC State leads.

2nd Half, 6 Minutes Left– Another careless turnover for the Wolfpack. Tyler Ennis takes advantage and knocks down a triple.

2nd Half, 7 Minutes Left– Tyler Ennis follows a Ralston Turner trey with a jumper for Cuse. The Wolfpack up six over the Orange as Cuse’s ongoing offensive inconsistency keeps them behind.

2nd Half, 8 Minutes Left– The struggles continue for CJ Fair

2nd Half, 10 Minutes Left– Cuse beginning to pick up the intensity on defense as they forced a NC State turnover and got the layup on the other end to cut the deficit to six.

2nd Half, 10 Minutes Left– Jerami Grant has been Syracuse’s offense tonight.

2nd Half, 11 Minutes Left– Syracuse with another turnover and Anthony Barber lays it in extending the Wolfpack lead to nine.

2nd Half, 12 Minutes Left– Wolfpack controlling every possession thus far in the second half, maintaining a seven point heading into the official media timeout.

2nd Half, 12 Minutes Left– NC State on a 7-0 run; 44-37 Wolfpack.

2nd Half, 14 Minutes Left– NBA range three from Ralston Turner! Anthony Barber then gets the steal after the Baye-Moussa Keita turnover and TJ Warren throws it down on the fastbreak. Syracuse calls timeout.

2nd Half, 15 Minutes Left– CJ Fair with the nice find inside to Baye-Moussa Keita, only to have the layup attempt swatted by Jordan Vandenberg! Tyler Ennis follows up the block with a steal of his own, and then connects with the floater on the other end.

2nd Half, 16 Minutes Left– Physicality picking up as well with both teams at three fouls a piece already.

2nd Half, 16 Minutes Left– Both teams have come out of the half on the attack as scoring is picking up and the up-tempo is being maintained.

2nd Half, 17 Minutes Left– NC State continues to attack the inside of Cuse’s zone. Christmas picks up another foul and is heading to the bench with four on the night! Cuse loses an inside threat on the defensive end.

2nd Half, 18 Minutes Left– TJ Warren connects on the slam after an Ennis missed three from the corner.

2nd Half, 19 Minutes Left– Rakeem Christmas picks up his third foul.

2nd Half, 20 Minutes Left– Second half underway

Halftime– NC State must continue their defensive intensity but has to start being smart with the basketball.

Halftime– Neither team is playing all that well. If CJ Fair can get it going in the second half, Cuse may start to pull away.

Halftime– TJ Warren leads all scorers with 11, showing why he is the ACC Player of the Year adding three rebounds and a pair of blocks.

Halftime– Tyler Ennis silently having a solid game for the Orange with six points, three assists along with three rebounds.

Halftime– NC State really started to pick things up on the offensive end in the final minutes of the half. Cuse continued to struggle and finished the half shooting 7 of 27 (26%), scoring 10 of their 25 points from the charity strip.

Halftime– The Wolfpack lead 28-25 entering the break.

1st Half, 30 Seconds Left– Syracuse holding for the final shot… CJ Fair cannot connect.

1st Half, 1 Minute Left– CJ Fair has been allergic to the net throughout the first half shooting 2 of 11 from the floor. NC State goes on a mini run before Jim Boeheim calls a timeout.

1st Half, 2 Minutes Left– Textbook breakdown on how to beat the zone! Vandenberg jams it home on the assist from TJ Warren.

1st Half, 3 Minutes Left– Cuse and NC State in the bonus. Both teams committing careless fouls as the tempo begins to pick up once more.

1st Half, 5 Minutes Left– Horrible inbounds pass from the Wolfpack as Tyler Ennis gets the steal and makes NC State pay on the other end with the slam.

1st Half, 6 Minutes Left– Cooney knocks down a triple from the corner, finally getting something going for Cuse. Still neck-and-neck but Cuse has the one point advantage, 16-15.

1st Half, 7 Minutes Left– Neither team can find any type of offensive rhythm whatsoever.

1st Half, 8 Minutes Left– Jerami Grant with the acrobatic layup. Dead even game so far as the Wolfpack have the edge on the glass, while the Orange have one less turnover; but the shooting struggles continue.

1st Half, 9 Minutes Left– Lennard Freeman throws it down for the Wolfpack. NC State starting to find a groove on offense attacking the middle.

1st Half, 11 Minutes Left– Both teams struggling to get any shots to fall. Cuse is 3 of 13 from the floor and NC State is 3 of 15.

1st Half, 11 Minutes Left– Cuse continues to control the tempo of the game on both ends of the floor. The Orange with the early 11-7 lead entering the second official media timeout.

1st Half, 12 Minutes Left– TJ Warren needs to start controlling the baseline. NC State cannot keep settling for long jumpers if they want to stay in the game.

1st Half, 13 Minutes Left– Early turnover struggles continue to haunt both teams. CJ Fair gets the steal and slams it home on the fast break, then Jerami Grant turns it over for Cuse after a Kyle Washington missed shot.

1st Half, 14 Minutes Left– Jordan Vandenberg the early hero for the Wolfpack. Getting his teammates the ball and connecting on a few buckets himself.

1st Half, 15 Minutes Left– NC State sloppy with the ball. They are getting the ball inside against the zone but cannot get any clean looks up.

1st Half, 16 Minutes Left– Teams trade buckets, Cooney gets fouled and nails both free throws. Syracuse up early controlling the tempo entering the first media timeout.

1st Half, 18 Minutes Left– CJ Fair with the ferocious slam! Up-tempo game for both teams.

1st Half, 19 Minutes Left– Eventful start to the game! Wolfpack win the tip, Cuse gets the block and comes up empty on the offensive end after two offensive rebounds. Warren fouled on the other end and connects on both free throws for the game’s first points.

Pregame– Tip-off coming shortly!

Pregame– TJ Warren will have to get some help from his supporting cast tonight for the Wolfpack to obtain their revenge. Desmond Lee and Ralston Turner will be key players for North Carolina State against Cuse’s lockdown matchup 2-3 zone.

Pregame– Syracuse has been struggling the past three weeks from the floor. Cuse has to come out of the gate shooting the ball efficiently. Look for Trevor Cooney to have a big night from beyond-the-arc.

Pregame– In their only matchup of the season, the Orange defeated the Wolfpack by a score of 56-55. Tonight, ACC Player of the Year TJ Warren & Company look for revenge after the one point loss suffered on February 15th.

First up, we have Syracuse vs. North Carolina State at 7 o’clock EST, followed by Duke vs. Clemson at 9 o’clock EST. Should be an exciting night of ACC basketball action!
